Natinal Pastime?

OK, it's bad enough that my favorite baseball team is 1-9 to start the season, but apparently pitching isn't the only facet of the team that is in dire need of assistance.  In last night's game, not one but two players sported the Natinals name across their jersey.   Today, the team lost after leading by two runs with two outs in the 9th, giving up a home run to Jeremy Hermida of the Marlins.  Then Hermida blasted a three-run homer in the 11th inning to send the Nats to their 9th loss in 10 games.  It's good to see that the team's hitting is competitive this year, but the pitching (especially the bullpen) is abysmal.

If the team's losing ways continue, the Nats could be in for a nightmare attendance total at Nats Park in just the stadium's second season.  Today's game (on a perfect 75 degree day) drew only 19,000 fans.  Just under 50% capacity.  Apparently, "if you build it, they will come" does not apply to baseball in Washington, D.C.  Right now, only winning will turn around the franchise and put bodies in the seats at Nationals Park.  It's just hard to imagine too many wins coming out of this pitching staff.  At the least, team management can hire a more competent seamstress.

If it makes you feel any better Jeremy tortured himself by watching the entire Yankee game yesterday. All 24-2 runs of it. I secretly laughed as a Red Sox fan...
