Do NOT Greenlight THIS!

Word from The Cinematical has Lorne Michaels (creator of Saturday Night Live) contemplating taking the MacGruber character from SNL and turning the skit into a feature-length film.  I have to admit I've come around on MacGruber a bit after despising the skits early-on, but this would be a giant mistake that might even make The Ladies Man look like an Oscar contender.  MacGruber wears thin after two minutes on SNL.  Multiplying that by 45 or 60 is just cinematic insanity.  Even the annoying Target checkout lady would have a better chance at holding an audience through an entire movie.  I'm hoping (but not at all confident) that Michaels was rip-shit drunk when he revealed this idea.

For those of you who haven't seen the parody of MacGyver, here's a Shia-infused version:

I have decided that nearly ALL SNL skits wear thin after five or so minutes. I was so excited about Will Ferrel's one man show on HBO, I just think he's hilarious. But we shut it off after 30 minutes but it just wasn't funny anymore. Too much. I guess that's the thing with sketch comedy.
