Bud Light Gets All Fancy

What's got into Bud Light in 2009? First they try to give a face lift to Tequiza by offering Bud Light Lime and now they try to enter the Hefeweizen arena with Bud Light Golden Wheat. I've had the lime version a couple of times this year (mostly at Nationals games) and it's pretty average and tolerable. I'd heard about Golden Wheat and had been wanting to try it for a few weeks now.

When I was shopping at BJ's last night, scanning the beer aisle for a new case to buy, at the end of the row my eye was caught by the bright orange box of BL Golden Wheat. My NEW PRODUCT alarm instantly went off and I was no longer in control of my own actions. I hoisted the case up into my cart without thinking twice. Even though I hadn't tried this brew before, it was NEW and I HAD to try 24 bottles of it.

I cracked open a bottle tonight and I must say the folks at Anheuser Busch have done themselves proud with this one. It tastes very much like a Shock Top or a light tasty Hefeweizen. It's not as full as a normal wheat beer and tastes slightly watery but it's not a bad thing. The water lightens things up a bit and makes it very smooth to drink. I would actually have to say that BL GW may be better than Bud Light regular. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a nice wheat-based beer. Now the question is how long do we have to wait to see "Miller Lite Top Wheat Ale" reach the shelves.

didn't you write something a few months ago about the best sports month of the year? I'm an October fan over April.

Yeah I did. here

I still stand by April as #1. Sports Guy doesn't agree with me because A: The Red Sox are always playing in October while the Nationals aren't. B: He doesn't enjoy watching or playing Golf as much as I do. I did rank October second so I was on par with his thinking.
