Don't want to waste a whole blog post on it, but Julie and Julia was average at best. Very slow and drawn out. Streep saves the movie though, if it was all about Julia Child it would have been better. 3 JR's. Not Top Ten material.

If Julie and Julia cracks your top 10, then we are not brothers. It was pretty chick flickish and boring. Watched it at Mom's on Xmas day and almost fell asleep. It was ok and entertaining, but not for dudes.

Since I never watch movies I am impressed that I actually saw a couple on your list :-) What about Julie and Julia? I saw that last week and loved it. Too chick flick for you? I also enjoyed the Hangover but the Mom in me cringed at the baby buckled in the backseat. And I kept thinking, has that baby been fed recently?

Thanks for the Up in the Air review. We literally just walked in the door from seeing it. Rob hated it, but I really liked it. I did feel that the rom-com portion of it was a little weak, but that George Clooney will absolutely win Best Actor, deservedly so. You are absolutely right that it is similar to Slumdog Millionaire - definitely hyped more than warranted.

We just got District 9 from Netflix and will probably watch tomorrow - so I'll have seen six of your top ten. By the way, good call on State of Play and I Love You Man (totally overlooked comedy!).
